LHSEF's "Taste of Lemont"
Downtown Lemont Lemont, IL
From 5-11 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, the Lemont High School Educational Foundation will host the Taste of Lemont at the Metra Lot in downtown Lemont. This fun, family-friendly event will feature live music and some of the best food and beverages the Lemont community can offer!
Tickets are on sale now and are $10 if purchased in advance ($15 in person at the door). Admission is free for ages 14 and under, and also free for Lemont High School students with a valid student ID.
The Taste of Lemont is the LHSEF's most important annual fundraiser, and it again will be open to all ages. Parents, students, younger siblings, community members ... all are invited!
As with previous years, the format will be typical of a Taste of... event, with food tickets purchased on site and redeemed with the vendors. Each restaurant will have multiple options on its menu.
The record-setting line-up of more than 20 food and beverage vendors has been set, with 14 returnees from last year, two more returnees from previous years, and five newcomers.
Returnees from last year include Barrel & Vine, The Creamery, Digs on Canal (feat. Gelsosomos Pizza), Folklore Coffee, Heroes West Lemont, Jimbos Pizza, LHS Blue & Gold Athletic Boosters, Mama Ds, Matts Barbecue, Morenos, Pollyanna Brewing Company, Rosatis Pizza, Rosebud Lemont, and Wooden Paddle. After participating in previous years, Celinas Fresh Market and Rustic Knead also will return. Newcomers include Bonita Bowls, Carpe Diem Dessert, Happy Bites, NovaTea, and Wokd.
In addition to outstanding food and beverages, the Taste of Lemont will feature live music, including a set from headliner Mike & Joe! Additional entertainment will be featured as well, and the evening also will include a Split the Pot fundraiser and kids' activities. A fun new addition to this year's event is a dunk tank, with a host of special guests prepared for their turn on the hot seat!
For the first time, the LHSEF will offer free remote parking and a shuttle service to and from the event. Attendees may park in the North Lot at Lemont High School (800 Porter Street, Lemont) and take a shuttle to and from the event.
The Taste of Lemont will be a rain or shine event.
The LHSEF has awarded nearly $625,000 in grants to aid Lemont High School's students, faculty and staff since 2007, as well as more than $125,000 to help make the CITGO Innovation Academy a reality. A primary reason it has been able to provide that level of support is the success of its annual Taste of Lemont events.
Proceeds from the Taste of Lemont benefit the LHSEF, whose mission is to partner with the community to make lasting improvements to Lemont High School that will enhance the total educational experience for all of its students. The Foundation funds and supports programs and opportunities that aid students growth, both academically and as citizens of the Lemont community. The Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization. All gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law. |
