Suicide Prevention for Young Adult Populations in a Post-Pandemic World
Lewis University, St. Charles Borromeo Bldg SB106 Romeoville, IL
Speaker: Ashley Eller, MA. LPC, Clincal Care Coordinator/Mental Health Counselor Lewis University
Helping a young person through a pivotal moment in their life is an indescribable reward and navigating these intense or frightening moments is an integral part of the clinician's role. With the rising rates of suicide and loneliness in the young adult population (American Association for Suicidology, 2023), mental health professionals are often the first critical step towards support and intervention for these young people, with many professionals feeling unprepared and unsure of what to do. This seminar will provide you with the confidence to support young people struggling with suicide and to navigate the assessment process through empirically validated interventions and a community support framework.
