The Bellingham Folk Festival Presents | Primo Lara w/ Steve Jones & Jan Peters
Cof& Bellingham, WA
Son Jarocho is a part of Caribbean music culture from Veracruz with clear links to other Afro-Caribbean musics. Primo Lara, a native of Veracruz, plays the traditional instruments of the region while singing and sometimes dancing. His gifted performances are rhythmically sophisticated and completely engaging. The trio adds two familiar NW musicians, Jan Peters and Steve Jones, and while their instruments are less commonly used in Sones Jarochos, the music retains its traditional form. Not to be missed!
