After ten years on the road, hundreds of shows and shelves of song-filled notebooks, Andy Zipf is taking a new name: The Cowards Choir.
"It took me a few years to figure things out. I'm grateful for the time I've had to chip away at some edges. Now I'm ready to begin again."
For this next chapter, Zipf enlisted long time friends and collaborators Ryan Walker, Ben Tufts and Adam Neubauer.
In August of 2013, The Cowards Choir released the Reunion EP. Less than a year later, they have been featured on WAMU 88.5 Metro Connection, nominated as one of DC's best upcoming bands by Deli Magazine, and mentioned on Rollingstone.com after backing up Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic during a surreal performance of Lorde's "Royals".
Their thrilling live show continues to evolve, driven by their camaraderie and the shared desire to make music that creates connection.
The Cowards Choir releases their new EP, COOL CURRENCY at IOTA Saturday, October 4.
One of DC's best singer songwriters, Justin Jones, opens. Jones "write(s) beautiful songs about death, sad songs about love, and hopeful songs about life".
Come out for this very special night of authentic music.
