6th Annual Blue Night Erotic Art & Burlesque

Our theme this year touches on the darker side of the late 1970's and early 1980's, a time when disco culture really leaned and/or clashed into political dealings. Queer, feminist and POC culture embraced this clash and were affected during this time in places like New York and Los Angeles. The climate was grittier than most others at the time; we are not talking about diamonds and disco, but dark allies and China White. Amazing things came out of this decade, such as iconic music and fashion, but also deep drug addiction and the AIDS epidemic. The political climate was rough and the mentally ill were villianized, and poverty and racism were thriving, These themes eerily parallel our climate today, and we offer this show as commentary towards these themes. Please come in costume or dress up if you feel inclined, and take it all in. Bring a sketchbook, and plan to take some time with the pieces and also the performers. We will be handing out consent tokens at the door in the event you would like to be interactive with the performers. Please remember that consent and safety of our performers and staff absolutely come first and foremost, and you will be asked to leave if you cannot remain respectful. This is a safe space for all of us and a beautiful and judgement free event.

This year's evening includes:
- Performance in the Round (including Lyra, Pole, Chains)
- Live Model Sketching (posed and staged around the room)
- Erotic Art Exhibition (consuming all the walls in the space as well as floor)
- Gender Bending Burlesque (amazing nationally renowned and local performers)

Show opens at 7pm for art viewing, live model sketching, performances in the round and mingling with visual and performing artists. At 9pm the evening becomes a ticketed event for a world class burlesque show hosted by Dr. Lucky. Presale tickets are $15, and are $20 day of show. All money goes to the performers.

- Any art/mixed media format and photography allowed. Keep below 48"x48". Maximum 3 entries per artist.
- Artist name, photos of entry, dimensions, and price DUE BY NOV. 11 to catdaddybluesband@yahoo.com or thequarrybisbee@gmail.com
- This show will reach capacity, so please enter ASAP to guarantee your slot.
- Entry ON PREMISES by Nov. 17
- This is a one-day, 24 hour show on Nov. 18, 2023, formally starting at 7pm.
- Pickup unsold art between 11am and 2pm on Sunday Nov. 19
- 30% commission paid to organizer Russell "CatDaddy" Gillespie on sold works
- Only original and for sale entries allowed
- No insurance on art and organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen work. There is no fee for artists to exhibit, however, the performance portion of the evening is ticketed.

Please note this is an inclusive event meant to promote and explore the concepts of eroticism. We, as organizers and venue hosts, are safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ persons as well as POC. We reserve the right to refuse any entry based on our judgements. As we are proponents of "the weirder, the better," we also are extremely concerned with consent and not exhibiting disturbing/triggering concepts (unless fully explained and approved).
