The Student Advocacy Center presents: "Telling Tales Out of School," a live storytelling fundraising event. Come and celebrate the art and craft of live storytelling, while supporting the Student Advocacy Center and its work ensuring our most vulnerable students stay in school and realize their rights to a quality public education.
6:30-8:30 p.m. April 25, 2014 at Washtenaw Community College's Towsley Auditorium in the Morris Lawrence Building, 4800 E. Huron River Dr., Ann Arbor.
Tickets are $25 (or more if you'd like to make a bigger gift to SAC). High school and college students: $10.
This a powerful evening where professional and new storytellers come together to inspire, challenge, and create community. Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers founder Satori Shakoor will host. "Stories are human. We grow when we share them. They make us stronger," said Shakoor, whose storytelling skills and talent have been featured on NPR's The Moth Radio Hour.

The Student Advocacy Center of Michigan works to assist our most vulnerable students stay in school, realize their rights to a quality public education, and experience success. We provide education advocacy and support, education mentoring, dropout prevention and family support with a focus on economically disadvantaged youth, youth in foster care or a homeless situation, students with mental illness, youth impacted by school discipline and zero tolerance, and youth facing barriers to enrolling in or attending school.
