For 35 years, Brave New Play Rites has been staging new short plays by emerging playwrights studying in the Creative Writing Program at UBC. This year, to follow health and safety mandates from the BC government due to Covid-19, we have moved our entire festival online. Ten full productions of short plays have been filmed, each one to be released daily from April 17th, for you to enjoy from the safety of your own home!
Our first short play is - "Hiding with Company" by Adriana Jones.
Hiding with Company is a dystopian drama about a dissident looking for a good bunker and some company to ride out the apocalypse and the woman who lures her to a possible hideout under false premises.
Hiding with Company is directed by Larisse Campbell and features the performances of Caroline Doyle as Jill, and Pamela Martinez as Severine. |
