Film shows previously unknown documents showing that from 1941 until the end of the war poles informed all allies about the situation in extermination camps in occupied Poland. The director has reached out to Polish reports, which are in the British archives and are ibite evidence of German crimes against Jews and Poland's commitment to informing the world about it. He pointed out that the film tells the story that the West, through London and the USA, received not only reports by Witold Pilecki and Jan Karski, but also dozens of other reports, showing the situation in occupied Poland and camps. In the film, director Krzysztof Brozek shows the indifference of the West during World War II to the reports of the Polish Underground State about the Holocaust.

Ukazuje on nieznane dotad dokumenty swiadczace o tym, ze Polacy juz od 1941 roku do konca wojny informowali wszystkich aliantow o sytuacji w obozach zaglady na terenie okupowanej Polski. Rezyser dotarl do polskich raportow, ktore znajduja sie w brytyjskich archiwach i sa niezbitym dowodem zbrodni niemieckich na Zydach oraz zaangazowania Polski w informowaniu o tym swiata. Zaznaczyl, ze film opowiada o tym, ze na Zachod, poprzez Londyn i USA, docieraly nie tylko raporty Witolda Pileckiego i Jana Karskiego, ale rowniez dziesiatki innych raportow, ukazujacych sytuacje w okupowanej Polsce i obozach.

The film tells the compelling story of two Polish Jewish, teenage sisters, Ariana and Renia Spiegel, struggling to survive the Holocaust in Nazi-occupied Poland. The film draws on the journal kept by Renia from 1939 to the summer of 1942. In the diary Renia describes amusing stories about her friends, thoughts about nature and animals, thoughts about her boyfriend, Zygmunt, and being separated from her parents.

Film koncentruje sie na losach nastoletnich Zydowek walczacych o przetrwanie w trakcie drugiej wojny swiatowej. Powstal w oparciu o pamietnik gimnazjalistki Reni Spiegel. Wzbogacaja go relacje siostry, Ariany Spiegel-Bellak oraz jednej z przyjaciolek siostr. Kiedy Niemcy, a pozniej Rosjanie zaatakowali Polske dziewczynki przebywaly u swych dziadkow w Przemyslu. Z zapiskow starszej Reni, prowadzonych od 15. roku zycia, wylania sie tesknota za mieszkajacymi gdzie indziej rodzicami. Sa tam tez zabawne historie o przyjaciolach, refleksje o przyrodzie i zwierzenia o jej chopaku, Zygmuncie.
