Chickenshed Players

Online Event

I wish to buy tickets for this event.

Chickenshed's no-audition approach to creating original work using storytelling, song and movement is like nothing else in NYC. Our process focuses on each child's individual creativity and strengths; and cultivates a theatre family of peers with different backgrounds, abilities, and talents. The kids work closely with professional teaching artists to collaborate and express their ideas, resulting in high-quality theatrical work. Our philosophy fosters inclusion, compassion and kindness, resulting in a vibrant and unforgettable experience. The semester culminates in an original and joyful performance on December 12.

For the Fall semester, our Chickenshed Players classes will be held in a secure online space, to ensure everyone's health and safety. Our theme for the semester program is "Let Our Voice Be Heard". Featuring Marvin Gaye's iconic song 'What's Going On,' our Players will continue their journey, exploring and developing a range of theatrical projects that will include storytelling, music, signing and movement as its core. Supported, empowered and encouraged by the Teaching Artists our Players will be part of an inclusive creative process, nurturing their energy and enthusiasm that will culminate into a real sense of ownership over their endeavors.

Age-grouped classes are held Saturdays, at the times listed below, from September 26-December 12 (excepting Thanksgiving Weekend).

NOTE:  At this sign-up, you will pay an annual registration fee of $50.  After the first session, we will send an invoice for the membership fee listed below.  Should your child choose not to participate after the first session, we will refund the registration fee.
