Joel Paterson has been on our radar for some time and we are delighted to introduce him to our Studio5 audiences. Joel says his life is dedicated to "playing guitar and exploring the sound and history of the roots music I love, including blues, jazz, country, western swing, and whatever else you want to call it." His interests run deep and his delivery is authentic ... not to mention tremendously fun. Howard Reich (Chicago Tribune) said this about The Modern Sounds: "Retro never sounded so appealing. Maybe thats because guitarist Joel Paterson doesnt regard the mid-20th century songs as historic repertoire. Instead, he addresses classic country, blues and Tin Pan Alley tunes as timeless works that reward repeated listening." Dan Forte (Vintage Guitar Magazine) said: "Of all the vintage artists injecting new life into bygone styles with originality and a sense of humor, these guys just might top the list." Joel will be playing music from his new Beatles instrumental album, "Let It Be Guitar" and much more!
