The Vivarium is taking to the internet!
In an effort to comply with the city of Seattle's recent public health requirements, The Vivarium is shifting to a primarily livestreamed event. We are excited to share this show with folks in Seattle as well as everyone and anyone outside of the Seattle area!

We are going ahead with performances as schedule on March 14th (at 8pm PST) and 15th (at 4pm PST), just now instead of coming to the theater, you can open up your internet-connecting device and enjoy the show wherever you happen to be. Video of the live performances will remain online after the performance so you can watch at your leisure.

We are asking that if you watch The Vivarium (either attending the livestream or watching after the performance) that you consider donating the cost of a ticket ($20 suggested -- we provide sliding scale pricing for all of our live performances and are happy to provide that for our video performance as well).

If you are interested in being part of our small studio audience you can still buy tickets for the shows this Saturday and Sunday (please see below for City of Seattle guidelines).

Shows on the 21st and 22nd have been cancelled.

This is our first time doing this and we've had to act quickly so we're going to do the best we can to make this the best video-based-livestreamed-contemporary-circus-performance that we can.

The Vivarium:
The Vivarium is the story of a young person coping with the loss of a close friend by turning to a hobby of collecting and researching insects. However, these complex creatures cant flourish in the captivity of a glass jar and the young Bug Collector struggles to accept that keeping them isnt the same as keeping them safe.

The Vivarium is the second production by A Frayed Knot Circus (founded in 2017 by creators/performers Ariel Schmidtke and Esther de Monteflores). A Frayed Knot Circus fuses circus arts with shadow puppetry as well as mask-work, dance and physical theater to create a fantastical world on stage. A world of humor, whimsy and melancholy. A world of earnest absurdity.
