Bridging Post presents Downward Facing Broad

Octave Theatre
Kingston, ON

I wish to buy tickets for

Funny gal Deborah Kimmett with singer Kim Pollard will bring a night of stand up story and song.

Deb riffs on aging, getting the senior discount, how not to get into a fight at Aquafit and what to do when a Rotarian tries to mansplain.

Kimmett is a regular on CBC Debaters, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and is an award-winning storyteller and playwright. This stage show was featured as an hour comedy special on CBC radio and is now a COMEDY CD that has rated 5th on ITUNES comedy albums across Canada.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Tchukudu Women's Training Centre in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a centre offering training in sewing, basket weaving, micro finance and business skills. Women, who have suffered horrific experiences of violence as a result of the ongoing conflict, come to learn skills so they can generate incomes to feed their families and educate their children.

Good! The show was a bit of much-needed light in these relentlessly depressing days.  (Joan Melanson CBC Radio)

"Thank you... it was such an extraordinary evening... the music, the laughter until I cried and poignant moments to be relieved by a killer line... GREAT, thank you. (Georgina Cannon, Hypnotherapist)

What an amazing show last night. Thrilled to be there. I actually hurt my rib laughing so hard at your "we won't need lunch ladies". You are a very great performer to watch and listen and laugh.  (Elaine Gold, Storyteller)

"Such a strong show, so funny, but that doesn't nearly express it! Your skill and instincts created performance art, with pacing, space to breathe. (Gary Kembel)

The potato!!!!!!! It is an honour! Xxx (Julia Bennett, Reporter)

Laughed my guts out  Peed my pants...Nailed it.  Over.  And over.  And over   (Dr. Carol Redmond.)

So last night I had the extreme pleasure of watching the amazing Deborah Kimmett perform her hilarious "Downward Facing Broad" show which was taped for CBC. I haven't laughed that hard for quite some time! A GREAT evening! (Pat Yeatman! Actress, ComicĂ°)

Go see this show. You will laugh until your cheeks hurt and it is filled with honesty and things that will have you shaking your head in recognition. We saw the show in Toronto and it was FANTASTIC. (Scott White)

It was such a special night Deb. Thank you from all us older broads for digging in so deep and honoring us!
