In most cider traditions, to drink the cider on its own is to only experience part of the potential flavor of the drink. Whether it be cheese or cured meats or braises or smoked fish, most ciders reach their full variety of expression when paired with various foods.

To see what we mean, join us for an afternoon cider and cheese tasting w/ cidermaker and author David Buchanan of Portersfield Cider. David will bring 6 different ciders from his collection to present and taste and Perennial will provide an array of local, organic cheeses from small Maine producers, along with some other snacks.

The tasting itself will be loosely structured, with David providing some background on the ciders and some general pairing principles, then guests will be encouraged to taste their way around and make their own pairing combinations to discover which they enjoy most, and which pairings brought out additional flavors from the food and/or the cider.

This event is open to the public. No cider drinking experience necessary. In fact, this would be about the best first cider drinking experience you could have.

Space is limited to 20 people.
