Come immerse yourself in a full day and night of feasting, folklore, heritage, traditional crafts, stories, dancing and community in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Our day starts at 1pm with a tour of the beautiful Ecology Centre in situated next to the stunning Kinghorn Loch in Fife with a chance to explore the three main event spaces and chat to your hosts  The Woven Land Network.

Throughout the day you will have opportunities to:

oExplore the beautiful grounds of the Ecology centre and nearby woods and lochs.

oJourney amongst Fifes abundant natural larder to forage for wildcrafted plants and medicine learning local plant lore with the ever skilful Foragerium (foragerium.co.uk) who has helped us craft the evenings dinner menu.

oTurn your hand at herbal remedy making under expert tutelage of Solar Ripe Herbs (http://solarripe.eu) and learn how to create medicine from the abundant plants surrounding us every day. This also includes a trip to Simone's working herb farm just up the road from the Ecology Centre. It's truly an enchanting place not to be missed!

oCreate your own Midsummer wreath to wear throughout the day. There are also ample opportunities to turn your hand at other traditional crafts taught by a range of gifted crafters including drop single spinning and loop braiding

oHear captivating Story Tellers, like Rowan Morrison (https://rowanmorrison.co.uk) and Jane Mathers regaling young and old alike with tales of Scottish folklore and enchantment.

Learn from experts in their fields exploring wide ranging topics like:
     oThe Cailleachs Herbarium ( www.cailleachs-herbarium) will be discussing Midsummer folklore and folk magic in Scotland and the magic of plants and land.
     oAsh Mills from Scottish Cunning Ways will be talking us through the significance of our intangible and tangible Scottish heritage and and how you can discover these hidden ancient sites in your local neighbourhoods.
     oThe incredibly talented Jannica Honey (www.jannicahoney.com - her photographs appearing in The Guardian, LA Times, Aftenposten, Svenska Dagbladet, The Scotsman, the Sunday Herald, Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Tank, Aesthetica Magazine and Swedish Gaffa) will be talking about creativity and expressing the natural human body in the landscape in her project "Where the Blackbird Sings.

As we relax into the twilight, we welcome you to raise a glass with us (included in the price) for the launch of The Woven Land Network along with short presentation about their work and become involved in their future journey.

This will be followed by a three-course seasonal and wildcrafted vegetarian (vegan) Simmermillfoy or communal dinner. All of which is included in the ticket price. Please bring your own cutlery and plates we are trying to make this a zero plastic event and minimise recycling at all parts.

Once we have eaten our fill, the Midsummer fires will be lit, and well dance away in to the small hours with the amazing Alan Crookston Ceilidh Band, (http://theceilidhbandedinburgh.co.uk).

For those who wish a more relaxed activity we will be showing ROOTS IN THE HEART (2015). This film is musician Jimmy Trash's journey through South Eastern Europe to learn, experience and make sense of ancient European customs of healing, blessing and seeing. Finally, as the sun sets but before we head home, we will cast our wreaths for wishes into the setting sun over the serene kinghorn loch waters as per tradition.

However, for those who wish to take the opportunity to relax and carry on the conversations with us all, camping is available on the grounds of the Ecology Centre for a small donation.

Please note - everyone must leave the centre no later than 10am the following Sunday.

Children under 8 years of age go free. Children above 8 years of age will need a ticket. We want everyone to take part and can accommodate cheaper tickets for those who might be on low or minimal income. Just contact us!

The ecology Centre is 15 mins walk from Kinghorn station and trains will run into Edinburgh until 11pm on a Saturday night.

Please dont forget to bring a picnic blanket, your own dishes and cutlery and any drinks (BYOB) or snacks youd like to have during the day.
