Sugarloaf Honors Oakmont and Kenwood

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is offering Free Admission to the Park for All who live in Oakmont or Kenwood.from Monday, May 13 through Friday, May, 17

Sugarloaf wants to thank our neighbors for all they do for the park. Most of our volunteers come from right here in the area. We also know that many who live in the area have not been to the park before or in a long time. So this week is a thank you for some and a welcome to others. While Sugarloaf has some of the areas most challenging hiking, it also encompasses many miles of flat or even wheelchair accessible trails that offer views and amazing wildflowers. So come on up, and learn more about the park either on an organized hike or from our volunteers.

If you are an Oakmont resident, your Oakmont pass is all you need for entry (or just leave on your dash). Kenwood residents, bring an ID or something to show you live in Kenwood. Mail or DL with the address.

The visitor center will be open from 10-3 each day for the week to answer questions give hike and park advice.

10 AM Shuttle Vans from Oakmont to Sugarloaf. Meet at Central Rec. Center. Sign up here.

10:30 am Welcome to Sugarloaf and Tour of Robert Ferguson Observatory

11:00 Meadow / Hillside Nature / Flower Hike

2-mile hike with a 250 elevation gain. No Registration Needed. Meet at Observatory/Group Camp.

11:00 - 12:00 Nature Trail Hike

1-mile hike over the level ground on an ADA compliant trail. Suitable for wheelchairs, and walkers. Meet at Observatory/Group Camp.

Light Lunch and Snacks

12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

Pasta Salad, Snacks and drinks picnic at the Group Camp.

1:30 pm shuttles leave Sugarloaf to Oakmont.
