One of the world top Bandoneonist Maestro Ramiro Boero will be visiting San Francisco in mid February. And, Golden Gate Int'l Artist is putting a  live tango concert with Argentine tango guitarist Maximiliano Larrea and local tango pianist Sumi Lee (who was educated in Buenos Aires on Tango piano). Bandoneónist: Maestro Ramiro Boero
He began to study the guitar when he was 16 in the Municipal Conservatory Manuel de Falla and then in the School of Popular Music in Avellaneda. At 19, he began to study the bandoneon at the Municipal Conservatory Manuel de Falla and at SADAIC with Maestro Néstor Marconi. In 2001 he auditioned for and entered the Orquesta Escuela de Tango, directed at that time by the Maestro Emilio Balcarce. In that orchestra he was directed by the maestros Julián Plaza, Néstor Marconi, Raúl Garello, Atilio Stampone, Víctor Lavallén, and Luis Stazo, among others. Since 2002, he has been a member of the Orchestra "El Arranque," working as bandoneon player, arranger and composer. With El Arranque, he has recorded four CDs and made more than 20 tours. He has participated in tango shows including those of Café Tortoni, El Viejo Almacén, Café de los Angeltitos and Rojo Tango. In 2008, he toured the United States with Roberto Álvarez's "Color Tango," Venezuela with the "Sexteto Mayor," and Italy with the Orquesta TangoVia, directed by César Salgán. Currently he studies harmony, counterpoint, orchestration and composition with the Maestro Daniel Montes.
Throught out a decades, he performed in many countries with Top orchestras and maestros and has been taught many tango musicians at La orquesta escuela de Emilio Balcarce.

Sumi Lee (Piano)
Ms. Lee is a classically trained pianist who obtained Masters degree in Music, piano performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, who also has been professionally trained as a tango pianist from La Orquesta Escuela de Tango, Emilio Balcarce, the most prestigious tango orchestra school in the world sponsored by city government of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has given concerts internationally and throughout the Bay Area including intl tango festival, Mundial 2017 & 2018, Buenos Aires. She is also a widely respected piano teacher who is a board of director of Music teachers association of California, SF branch.
While she was living in Buenos Aires, she performed with La orquesta Escuela de tango, Emilio Balcarce and living maestros and musical directors such as Víctor Lavallén (Bandoneonist and Arranger of Osvaldo Pugliese), Jose Pepe Colangelo (Pianist of Anibal Troilo), Osvaldo Piro (Bandoneonist and arranger for Alfredo Gobbi), Roberto Alvarez (Bandoneonist of Osvaldo Pugliese and director of Color Tango), Daniel Binelli (Bandoneonist of Osvaldo Pugliese & Grammy award), Mauricio Marceli (Violinist of Osvaldo Pugliese), Nicolas Ledesma (Pianist of Leopodo Federico and Ledesma orchestra, Latin Grammy award) and many more professors of La orquesta Escuela de tango, Emilio Balcarce
She performed with these maestros at prestigious concert venues (such as Kirchner Cultural Centre, Teatro San Martin, Teatro coliseo, Usina del arte, Biblioteca nacional, Parque centenario, etc). Her latest concert and new Gobbi CD presentation conducted by Osvaldo Piro and Victor Lavallen at teatro San Martin, Buenos Aires was sold out (950 audiences) and aired live via national radio 2*4 and TV.  Her latest Tango CD Inedito that Emilio Balcarce tango orchestra school recorded rare Alfredo Gobbis songs is available on Spotify. She also performed for a successful sold out debut concert with new tango group Las Malevas, female only octeto group at milonga El tacuari in San Telmo, Buenos Aires and Las M Y M in Villa Crespo, Buenos Aires. She is back to Bay area in Dec 2018 after receiving her diploma of tango music from tango orchestra school & City of Buenos Aires, and planning to perform authentic Argentine tango music and tour many cities in the united States and Asia with her own tango group and produce her own contemporary tango music in the near future.

Maximiliano Larrea (Guitar)
He is an accomplished guitarist, arranger, and composer from Rosario, Argentina, and one of the leading interpreters of classical and contemporary guitar of the new tango generation. He came to the United States in 2015 and moved to San Francisco in Fall 2018. After completing a degree in classical guitar in Rosario, Maximiliano moved to Buenos Aires where he studied tango and folk music in the prestigious Manuel de Falla Conservatory under legendary guitarist Juan Falú, and tango arranging and composition from renowned tango masters Diego Schissi, Nicolas Ledesma, and Gabriel Senanes. In Argentina, he worked as a guitarist, arranger, and director of multiple acclaimed tango and Argentine folk music groups including Cuartero Revirado, Quinteto Negro La Boca (Sony Argentina), Quinteto Clandestino, and Aires Trio and has performed in prestigious milongas and concert halls across Buenos Aires. He has also performed at national music festivals including the World Tango Championships and the Pre-Cosquin Folklore Festival, where he received recognition as a competition finalist. Maximiliano has recorded on multiple tango albums, and participated in international tango tours to Europe, Canada and Mexico.
Since moving to the U.S., Maximiliano has been preparing an album of solo guitar compositions, which he debuted at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in May 2018. He has also been actively participating as a guitarist, arranger and musical director in various tango projects including the Colby College tango ensemble, the piano-guitar duet Duo Larrea-Minetti, and Tamango, a community-oriented tango quintet in Indiana. Most recently he has been working as an arranger for the Q-Tango quintet based out of New Mexico, performing with various tango bands in the Bay Area including Mariano Barreiro Quartet, and Trio Larrea-ODay-Durso, and preparing the launch of his new musical project, Maximiliano Larrea Tango Trio.
