Special dinner-show to kick off the week-end long dance festival, JamBallah NW!

Mid-East inspired dance and music ensemble Baksana will entertain you during the meal with their very special guest, Henna.

All you can eat amazing Iraqi buffet, kosher with gluten free/vegan options. Full bar with great mixed-drinks and friendly atmosphere.

This event is open to all. Those not participating in the festival are also most welcome!

Doors open at 6pm... come fill your plate and choose a good seat!

6:30-8:30pm Live Music and Belly Dance Performance

8:30-10ish: Venue will stay open with their full bar and a select menu available for additional purchase. Stay, schmooze, and dance to some fun recorded music!

DINNER - Dar Salam Lazurdi: Family owned Iraqi restaurant uses the freshest ingredients, kosher meats, and always offers gluten-free and vegan options. Full bar with local beer (gf options), wine & specialty cocktails (not included in ticket price). The service is warm-hearted and the decor is incredible! Replica of the gates of Ishtar painted on all walls by local mural artist Pablo Garcia.

ENTERTAINMENT - Baksana: Folk-fusion belly dance ensemble with live music, inspired greatly by middle eastern, balkan, and jazz genres. Energetic improvisation between dancers and musicians makes for an exciting, one-of-a-kind, performance experience!

Henna: Award-winning Egyptian belly dance artist known for incredible musical interpretation and gorgeous earthy movements. Her passionate dancing is well loved by many world-wide!

CELEBRATION - JamBallah NW is an annual dance festival held in downtown Portland that brings professionals, students, and enthusiasts from all over the country to celebrate the vibrant diversity of middle eastern dance and fusion dance. Not participating in Jamballah? NO WORRIES! This event is absolutely open to the wider public, and festival-goers are a super friendly bunch. This evening will mark the kick-off gathering where participants can connect with old and new friends and fuel up before diving into classes, lectures, shopping, and showcases. Remember, this event is open to all, regardless of Jamballah attendance.

The restaurant is located in inner-SW Portland, conveniently along max and bus lines (with a parking garage above).

First come first serve food and family style seating.

Families welcome.

Ticket price includes both the dinner and entertainment. There is no option to buy tickets for food and performance separately.
