Summer Showcase 1:
Red Ribbons & Memories Dance Concert Performance
Join us for an intimate & yet epic evening of dance, film, and live music, as we present to you two programs:
A collage of dance pieces that embodies the theme of memories choreographed by many known artists in the dance community.
Noelle Andressen (Rubans Rouges Dance Company), Wendi Baity (Relentless Dance Theatre), Nancy Evans Doede (Nancy Evans Dance Theatre), Amanda Hart (Hart Pulse Dance Company), Misa Kelly (ArtBark International & New Traditions Foundation), Beth Megill (Beth Megill & Company), along with amazing emerging artists: Kim & Jay Castillo, Kirby Harrell, and Heather Smith (Rubans Rouges Dance Company).
Based on "The Dance" that started Rubans Rouges Dance Company, the long awaited, full concert version of "RED RIBBONS" will finally be presented as intended in its completed and uncensored form.
Noelle Andressen (Rubans Rouges Dance Company)
Travel along one woman's journey of her inner soul. Experience how she triumphs over her heart's nightmare and finds the light of HOPE in her darkened life.
Please use discretion as this dance performance delves into mature and controversial subject matters. This performance may not be suitable for children under 13, nor suitable for children under 13 unattended by adults. Parental discretion is strongly advised.
In the Fall of 2008, Noelle Andressen, embarked on creating a dance that would do more than test her mettle. It would prove to test her love for dance and a special person as well. When challenged by her then mentor to do something different (something other than ballet), Noelle rose to the occasion and delved deep into her being and chose to create a modern dance piece that would speak volumes to anyone who had suffered through the tragedy she had gone through.
This initial 4 minute, stand-alone dance piece was a labor of love, dedication, and would serve as a message and a tool that to this date (as having been performed as a stand-alone dance) has set many women free from abuse and gave them a voice of courage to speak up.
Her long awaited goal has now finally come to fruition and she proudly presents to you her complete, uncensored, personal story.
When asked by one of her dancers, "Why now? What made you decide to do this now?"
Noelle replied, "It is time..."
