The William J. Bullis Fundraiser aims to provide grants to two to three financially disadvantaged,aspiring chefs every year. The Bullis Scholarship was founded five years ago to honor the memory of William J. Bullis. Willie was a senior attending Mills High School and an aspiring young chef who overcame his physical disability to discover his passion for cooking. Tragically, his life was cut short in the San Bruno Fire of 2010. Together,we are keeping his dream alive by helping others like him fulfill their culinary dreams.
Our fundraising event is October 20th, 2018, at the Congregational Church of San Mateo. All proceeds from the event will go toward funding $15,000 scholarships to be awarded in 2018 - 2019. We have been able to fund 2 scholarships per year through the Culinary Institute of America. We have both a live auction and silent auction. Last years auctioneer was Congresswoman Jackie Speier and we look forward to her being there again to make this a huge success.
