2017 sees the 3rd exciting edition of Fowey's world-class classical music festival. Former Royal Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales, CATRIN FINCH, comes to us on Friday evening. An internationally renowned artist, her recital will be a stunning experience. On the Saturday evening, a trio of remarkable young instrumentalists, all recent prize-winners, will perform a programme of classical music's greatest composers, Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms. There'll be a couple of lighter numbers too! BENJAMIN GOLDSCHEIDER is winner of the Brass Category Final of the 2016 BBC Young Musician competition and a fearless horn-player. He will be joined by violinist CALLUM SMART, who aged 13 won the strings category of the 2010 BBC competition, and by RICHARD UTTLEY, a young pianist who has already performed on many of the world's stages and regularly on the BBC.

The Saturday morning YOUNG MUSICIANS' COFFEE CONCERT provides an opportunity to hear the very best of the region's young players. These talented young musicians have a platform on which to test their skills in public, accompanied if necessary by Dr Marlene Bowden, who coordinates the event. It is her wish that they aim high and aspire to become the distinguished musicians of the future.
