Sevdalinka Night with Miso and Sandi

Online sales have ended but we will have a number of tickets at the door, beginning at 6:30pm. We will also welcome party-hoppers with discounted entry after 10pm.

An intimate evening with Sevdah masters Misho and Sandi from Bosnia, who are lead members of the famous Mostar Sevdah Reunion, and local guest stars.

Miso and Sandi, the guitarist duo from Mostar Sevdah Reunion, perform sevdah, the ancient, often pained and passionate music of Bosnia. Also referred to as "the Balkan blues", it is at times a solemn, sadly soulful style, at other time more upbeat but still as passionate. Their intricate tunes carry influences from Turkish, Sephardic, Roma ("Gypsy"), and Persian music.

Doors at 7, music starts around 8:30 with "Zlatna Mountain" (Macedonian village music) and Nihad Dozic (Sevdah singer and saz player from Seattle). Miso and Sandi begin around 9. The guest musicians will perform again later while Miso and Sandi take a break. There will also be some other surprise guests.
