The Eastlake Community Council welcomes you to the Friday, Dec. 23 holiday cruise on the historic icebreaker the Islander. Boarding (at 1611 Fairview Avenue East) begins at 5:30 p.m., we sail at 6:30, and return is about 9:30.
Join the lighted boats coming through Union Bay to enjoy the grand finale overwater concerts in Portage Bay and Lake Union. This classic Seattle event features a stunningly beautiful tableau of hundreds of decorated boats, the largest of which has an amplified childrens choir. Through a change in the concerts schedule, the cruise starts and ends an hour earlier than in previous years.
Tickets ($40) include dinner, salad, and dessert (vegetarian options available). Kids up to 6 years old are free, but only if pre-registered by an e-mail with their names and ages to info@eastlakeseattle.org (so that the cruise company and Coast Guard have an accurate pre-count of all passengers, even those not needing tickets). There's a no-host bar (cash, credit cards, and debit cards accepted on board). For questions: info@eastlakeseattle.org.
At the cruise, we will be accepting donated non-perishable items for the University District Food Bank, which serves Eastlake and nearby neighborhoods. The Food Bank welcomes non-perishable food items and toiletries (bar soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, safety razors). |
