Thank you for Supporting Hollywood Heritage!

For our March Evening @ the Barn, retired National Park Service Ranger Mike Malone will take us on a fascinating trip through time to some of the most memorable film locations from the last 100 years. The Santa Monica Mountains, and the surrounding valleys, have stood in for faraway lands from the orient to the south pacific and from the 13th century to the 19th century. They were also a backdrop for both world wars, science fiction films and served as historical periods of American history.

This presentation will not only include the movie ranches, but also what was once a 30,000 acre ranch of open grassland and rolling hills where Scarlett O'Hara declared "I'll never be hungry again." We'll visit a shady sylvan glen with a meandering stream where stars like Fred Astaire, Katharine Hepburn, Bob Hope, Carole Lombard, John Wayne and Henry Aldrich once stood before the camera while "on location." We'll travel down to the coast of Malibu for D-Day and Pacific Island beach landings as well as wartime battles along European coasts and a beach house from "Mildred Pierce." And along the way we'll see where Tarzan and Jane rode elephants and built a tree house, where a British outpost was built for The Lives of a Bengal Lancer, and where Greta Garbo was romanced by Clark Gable and John Gilbert.

You won't want to miss this in-depth presentation filled with rare photos, film clips and anecdotes. We'll also be hosting our famous $1 raffle as well as serving an array of delicious refreshments on our back deck.
