Using particle/wave duality as a metaphor, this workshop explores the different paths inherent in the motion of the hoop around our bodies, and how flow emerges in the transition between those paths. The first half breaks down technical concepts that involve manipulating the hoop in some way and the second half is about awakening to inner experience and process, then merging the two. Participants will get some new moves from the play, as well as a sequence and some tools and ideas for how to make their own. The goal is to tap into the energy of flow and train our bodies and minds to get out of the way.
Specific technical concepts to be covered will include: core hooping, body rolls, anti-spin, isolations and cross-planes. |
