Instructor Bio:
Cal, manager of the Tandy Leather Factory, has been hosting workshops and making 'adult' leather for over 4 years. He specializes in custom equipment and adaptive designs. Everything from whippies and spankies to pokies and ouchies! If it slaps, flogs, paddles, or restrains then Cal can help you make it!
Class Description:
This class will start with basic leather crafting skills and cover two basic aspects of leather craft: working with vegtan leather (paddles) and garment leather (floggers). You will learn the basics construction techniques of cutting, beveling, slicking, glueing, dyeing, embossing & sewing leather. Participants have the option to make either a paddle, a flogger, or both. If you choose to make both, you may need to finish the second project outside of class time with the purchased materials.
Basic materials for each project is $30 with the option to buy custom add-ons at the class. Please bring a good straight edge, scissors and cutting tools (razor or craft knife) if you have them. |
