2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inductee Jimmy Cliff brings Jamaican rhythms to modern social, political and environmental themes in his latest album, Existence. The ska and reggae musician helped bring world-wide awareness to Jamaican music when he starred in the 1972 film The Harder They Come. He has released more than 20 albums and has collaborated with music legends including The Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox and Sting.
Melodic alt-rocker Trevor Hall released his first album in 2004 and after leaving Geffen Records, found songwriting inspiration. He picked up his guitar, wrote 14 new songs, and recorded an acoustic album called This is Blue with friend and percussionist Chris Steele. His latest self-titled album released by Vanguard Records in 2009 debuted at #7 on the Billboard Heatseeker's chart, which highlights new and developing musicians. |
