Māmsa: Rabit and Tripletrain @ Tropicalia

Panchamakara and MISO collective are pleased to bring Houston's Rabit and Brooklyn's Tripletrain to DC for a night of eclectic bass music and forward-thinking club sounds at Tropicalia on January 15th.

Over the past two years, Texan producer Rabit (Tri Angle Records / on.the.sly) has released an impressive assortment of productions that blend elements of grime, club, hip hop, and R&B on a variety of labels such as Keysound, Glacial Sound, Sound Pelligrino, and Soundman Chronicles. Rabit has been recognized as "one of the most interesting producers from this sphere" (FACT Magazine). Recently, he's also been drawing attention for Pandemic Transmission- his new series of mixes that uses live experimentation of new production techniques beyond his distinctive sound- as well as a bevy of head-turning remixes for artists like Mike G (Car Crash Set), DJ Q (Local Action), and Chemist (Coyote Records). Look for his debut release on Tri Angle Records in the first quarter of 2015.

Tripletrain is the Teklife-affiliated, Brooklyn-based DJ and production duo of DJ DBK and DJ Mel Gibson. The pair are actively involved in spreading the Chicago sound of footwork to the East Coast and beyond. In addition to DJing and producing, the two run a live video stream called SkylineSessions.TV that features live performances by DJs from around the world. Tripletrain are "no strangers to the possibilities of footwork's playful side, and they pull it off far better than most. The duo's lean on hybrid organ, synth riffs, and more recent R&B samples plainly marks their NYC roots." (AdHoc).

The combined DC debut of Rabit and Tripletrain will mark an event not to be missed in the capital's bass music scene.
