This Master Class/Workshop series is for BOTH violinists and string players AND the general public.
The WORKSHOP, intended for the general public, will be led by Kit Eakle, assoc. prof. of jazz violin at the California Jazz Conservatory, and Point Richmond Jazz founder and producer, demonstrating and sharing recordings with listeners interested in jazz violin - this session will focus on Latin styles. A half hour Q & A session with violinist Anthony Blea will also be a part of the workshop.
The Master Class, a hands-on session intended for string and other players, will be led by Afro-Cuban violinist Anthony Blea, on the role of violin in Afro-Cuban music.
