An evening concert featuring singer, songwriter, author and musician Carrie Newcomer, on September 20, 2014 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wimberley, Texas. Doors to the main church open at 6:00 PM and the concert begins at at 7:00 PM.
Carrie Newcomer has produced over 15 solo CDs and has received numerous awards for her work including, the 2003 and 2007 Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards from Folk Wax Magazine for her albums The Gathering of Spirits and The Geography of Light, respectively. Her song, "I Should Have Known Better" was recorded by Nickel Creek in 2003 and was included on their Grammy winning Best Contemporary Folk Album, "This Side". In 2010, Chicago's WUMB and The Chicago Tribune included her on their list of the Top 50 folk artists of the last 50 years.
The concert will benefit Camp Sam and Mission Youth Outreach as part of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church's youth outreach program. Carrie will be available after the concert to sign CDs which will be available for sale. Join us in the beautiful hill country for an evening of music that is sure to touch and inspire the spirit. |
