In the new book, "A Minor: A Novel of Love, Music and Memory," author Margaret Philbrick's characters confront real-life topics such as the stigma of aging, the stages of love, faith and forgivenesss. This book speaks to many audiences, including individuals dealing with the progressive struggles of dementia firsthand as caregivers and women confronting the emotional and physical challenges of aging. "A Minor" details the complexity of human life in a sensitive and hopeful tone. It will delight and inspire music lovers and offer encouragement and support for anyone dealing with the issues of dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Philbrick, of Wheaton, has a bachelor's degree in English literature from Trinity University, San Antonio, and a master's degree in teaching from National Louis University. She teaches writing and literature to children and teens at The Greenhouse School and H.S.U., both of which provide supplemental classical education to the home-school community. |
