The tour starts at my favorite United Dairy Farmers Store. There you'll hear how UDF changed the Ohio dairy industry. You'll learn techniques to "properly" taste ice cream. Cap off your UDF experience by sampling America's favorite ice cream flavor, invented by UDF.
Next, we'll travel to Cakes and more. Learn how this family business grew and flourished by taking advantage of its multi-ethnic background. You'll savor exotic bakery goodies the like of which you won't find elsewhere in Columbus.
And, because you can't have dessert without coffee, we'll make a stop at Peet's where you'll get to experience coffee excellence. Learn how to "cup" coffee; hear about coffee processing and how to brew the best cup at home. Taste a variety of coffee roasts accompanied by Peet's specialty baked goods.
Next, we'll visit Frida Katrina Mexican Folk Art & Café, truly a unique place. Enter an authentic Mexican "fonda", a casual eatery. Hear owner Leticia Vazquez-Smith's dream to present her culture with food and folk art. We'll sample authentic Mexican rice pudding at this stop while we hear Leticia's story.
Our last stop is Portia's Café. If you are skeptical about how high on the yummy scale a vegan dessert can taste, Portia will show you! I guarantee that you will want more of Portia's vegan chocolate mousse. |
