A Christmas Carol

Based on the story by Charles Dickens

Adapted for the stage by Michael Paller.

Charles Dickens Christmas classic, telling the story of the tight-fisted skin-flint Ebenzer Scrooge, and how an assortment of ghosts and Spirits of Christmas transform him from a stony hearted miser into a man who has undergone a change of heart.

This version of A Christmas Carol will be different from others you may have seen, because playwright Michael Paller has placed the story in Charles Dickens attic, where Dickens has ordained that his guests shall gather on Christmas Eve, 1843. Dickens passes out props and costumes and the guests act out the famous story. Each of the actors plays multiple roles.

This tale of spiritual transformation includes ghosts and graveyards and deals with subjects like love, disease and death. It is a powerful story that will delight the young and bring a tear to the eye of even the most hard-hearted Scrooge yet skulking unloved among us.
Directed by Dawn Jacobs, with set, lights and sound effects by Kevin H.C. Moore.  Actors include Rod Grainger, Christopher Martin, Dave Watts, Robert Ford, Randa Craighead, Spencer Copperfield, Amarah Potter, Soren Pinelli, Sylvia Wartell, Kathy de Bane and Mike ADair.

Opens December 2 and runs through December 18.  Shows on December 2, 3, (first week) 8,9,10, 11, (second week) and 15,16,17 and 18 (third week.)  Tickets available in person at Mazahar, 38 South Main Street in Willits or through Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets are $15 for Friday and Saturday shows, and $10 for Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon shows.
