1941 Christmas From Home - WWII Musical Play

Alpenrose Dairy Opera House
Portland, OR

Sales have ended for this event.

The 1941 Christmas From Home play recreates a WWII radio show from 1941 as it would have been performed live on stage in Portland, Oregon. It is the first in a five year series of plays (1941-45) and includes authentic sound effects, costumes, live music and sketches combined with real letters from NW troops. The plays were written by local author Pat Kruis Tellinghusen.

The 1941 play is especially relevant this year since it is the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

Ralph Radio Theatre was formed in memory of local actor and radio personality Ralph "Radio" Steadman.

"Former cast members report that families brought their children to experience the show as living history. This play has the ability to transport the audience like a time machine to 1941. From the moment our audience enters the theater, the magic begins. It is as close as you can get to being there." - Kimberly Poe, Producer/Director
