In this two-day class we will present two, proven paths to anatomy study, side by side, alternating back and forth, both in building clay onto model skeletal sculptures, and in examination of the preserved cadaveric specimen. We will build from inside-out and examine out-side in, the musculoskeletal system in both left and right pectoral (shoulder, arm, and hand) anatomy. This is the first in a series of dual, collaborative workshops.

Jon Zahourek, in his Anatomy in Clay Centers (AICC), designed as a community resource in anatomy education for all, developed an innovative approach has been proven in seventeen published university and medical school studies. In the Anatomy in Clay experience, you learn in hands-on construction of anatomical forms, step-by-step from inside-out in clay, achieving three-dimensional understanding in the process.

Bev Boyer, in her Colorado Learning Center of Human Anatomy (CLCHA), was designed as a community resource in education of human anatomy and physiology through the art of dissection. Dissection has been the traditional gold-standard of anatomy study. The dissective experience, in hands-on deconstruction of anatomical form, you learn from outside-in, memorizing three-dimensional anatomy in the process.

Cancellation Policy:
The entire workshop amount paid may be refunded or applied to another workshop if registrant cancels at least seven days before the date of the workshop. Cancellations made in less than seven days of the workshop may only be applied to another future workshop.

Anatomy in Clay Centers reserves the right to cancel workshops due to circumstances beyond our control or when enrollment is deemed insufficient. In this event, all deposits, tuitions and fees will be refunded. Anatomy in Clay Centers cannot be responsible for workshops, or portions of workshops that registrant or participants miss due to illness, emergency, or other events beyond the control of the Center. Anatomy in Clay Centers cannot be responsible for losses incurred by any registrant due to airline fares or other travel arrangements in the event that the workshop must be canceled or postponed. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

1. For workshops 8 hours or less in length , cancellation must be made 7 days prior to the start of class.

2. For workshops 8 to 16 hours in length, cancellation must be made 10 days prior to start of class.

3. For workshops 40 hours or more , cancellation must be made 21 days prior to start of class.

4. After that Tuition paid may be transferred to a future workshop.
