Basketball legend and cultural commentator Kareem Abdul-Jabbar explores the heart of issues that affect Americans today, from race and economic inequality to the business of sports and the medias influence on society.

In his newest book, Writings on the Wall, he explores the way America today is sharply divided along many cultural lines and suggests how we can bridge the gaps. Abdul-Jabbar uses his unique blend of erudition and authentic experience in these all-new essays on challenges faced by future generations of Americans, the countrys seemingly irreconcilable partisan warfare, and his own experiences as an athlete, African American, and Muslim.

Kareem will be in conversation with Richard Roeper, columnist and film critic for The Chicago Sun-Times.

This is a speaking and book signing event. Your ticket number/seat number is your reserved place in the signing line. We'll call you up in groups to head to the signing area to meet Kareem and have your book signed.

Here's what you get with each ticket:
Admittance for one person (two if you purchase the package)
A copy of the new book, "Writings on the Wall" handed to you when you arrive
A reserved place in the signing line to get your book autographed and personalized if you'd like
The opportunity to meet Kareem

Here's what you shouldn't expect:
A posed photo (you can snap a quick picture from the line before you meet him)
An autograph in the book that you bought elsewhere
An autograph on anything else, including memorabilia

The seat number is actually your assigned place in the signing line. There are no assigned seats for this event.
