Calling all 5th-8th grade artists! You are invited to join BIMA's After School Art Club on Monday afternoons from 2-4pm in the Classroom. Be inspired by the museum's current exhibitions. Explore new techniques and materials. Create your own works of art.
September 19 Outdoor Sculptural Installation Create a temporary site-specific sculpture and record the finished product using photography.
September 26 Drawing: Gesture, Line & Form Capture the human figure in drawing, learning about line, proportion and the structure of the body.
October 3 Figurative Wire Sculpture Construct a standing figurative form out of wire, gauze and plaster.
October 10 Print, Collage & Patterns Printmaking and collage layers inspire designs rich with texture and pattern.
October 17 Wood Sculpture Assemble an abstract sculpture using found and scrap wood.
October 24 Storymaking: Super Heroes Using the comic book form, create your own character and story.
