Life-changing. Hypnotic. Transformational. This is how the audience described Arjun Vermas sitar concert at the last event in 2014. With a packed room at the Pacific Cultural Center, Arjun Verma and Nilan Chaudhuri blew the minds of everyone who attended. This September, youll have the chance to experience it yourself.
Arjun began learning sitar at age five from his father, Roop Verma, who studied with Maestros Ali Akbar Khan and Ravi Shankar. Arjun now teaches at the Ali Akbar College of Music in Marin and travels the world performing sitar.
Local event production company, Mangala Productions is teaming up with Manish Chandra of Santa Cruz Ayurveda (http://santacruzayurveda.com/) to bring the ethereal sound of the sitar and tabla to you.
Proceeds from the concert will go to local non-profit, Ecology Action.
