Midsommer Nights Dreame By William Shakespeare July 29-31, 2016 Friday 7:00pm, Saturday 2:00pm & 7:00pm, Sunday 2:00pm Tickets: Suggested Donation $10.00-20.00
In Shakespeares timeless play Midsommer Nights Dreame presented by HearthFire Theatre directed by William Edson and Rainier Pearl-Styles explores the intersectionality of cultural assumption, relationships, gender identity, generational conflict, magic in the mundane, and what it means to be human through the lens of 400 year-old text. In this gender bent comedy lovers struggle against expectation and the law, fairies have some meddling fun, and a rag tag theatre group attempts to pull together a production. In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeares death Midsommer Nights Dreame reminds us of how blurred the lines between dreams and reality are as we search for our own path through the forest of life and love.
Founded in 2015, HearthFire Theatre was created in the spirit of ancient fireside storytelling. The company embodies the idea that when we gather around the fire and share stories we learn and grow, transforming our own ideas about ourselves, each other, and the world. We journey out to create and collect our own stories and bring them back to the hearth to share as we create theatre together.
Midsommer Nights Dreame runs from July 29, 2016 at 7:00pm through July 31, 2016 at 2:00pm in the chapel at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco, 1187 Franklin st. San Francisco CA, 94109-6813. For further questions email hearthfiretheatre@gmail.com or go to hearthfiretheatre.weebly.com |
