BLACK COMEDY

Lovesick and desperate, sculptor Brindsley Miller and his fiancee, Carol, have embellished their apartment with furniture and objects d'arte "borrowed" from the absent antique collector next door hoping to impress Carols pompous father and a wealthy art dealer, at a party they are having. Just before their fussy neighbor returns and party guests arrive a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness while Brindsley attempts to return the borrowed objects. What follows is a frantic romp with unexpected visitors, mistaken identities and surprises lurking in every dark corner! As you might expect, the results are chaotic, disastrous and very funny.

The Actors Nightmare

Having casually wandered onstage, George (an accountant)is mistaken for the understury and informed that one of the actors, Eddie, has been in an auto accident and he must replace him immediately. Apparently no one is sure of what play is being performed but George seems to find himself in the middle of a scene from Private Lives, As he fumbles through one missed cue after another the other actors shift to Hamlet, then a play by Samuel Beckett, and then a climactic scene from what might well be A Man for All Seasonsby which time the disconcerted George has lost all sense of contact with his fellow performers. Will George rise to the occasion and finally says the right lines.
