From the pioneering playwright of Top Girls and Love and Information, comes a time-and-gender-bending comedy about identity politics and sexual liberation.
British colonial Africa, 1880. Clive rules over his corner of the Empire with benevolent bigotry. But the tribes are growing restless. So too is Clive's family, as sexual longing threatens to torch the standards of acceptable society. Jump ahead to 1979. The family has returned to London, having aged only twenty-five years. Sexual boundaries have vanished. So why is everyone so unsatisfied?
