Brixton- Graffiti, Food, Community, Culture

Brixton was once known as a place to avoid, now, it's the place to be. Nowhere else in this city is quite like Brixton. Street food, African & Chinese markets a skate park a proactive art scene with amazing murals from the 1980s to present day street art and an inspiring graffiti hall of fame.

Music and food are a big part of this community, it was voted as having the greatest live music venues in London as well as being home to the greatest food the city has to offer. Everyday you will here music on the street, perhaps steel drums maybe reggae tunes blasting or gospel singers singing, whatever is happening, its always fun to walk these streets.

This borough has many community projects happening, some are in unlikely spaces from derelict run down vacant properties waiting to be gentrified to covered markets and recycled shipping container villages showcasing local artists, musicians and designers.

Brixton is such a vibrant a colorful part of the city due to the people that live here. You have a great mix from around the world with a very strong Jamaican, Portugues, African and South American influence.

What we do on this tour:

Brixton has a buzzing market with food and clothing, we give you a few minutes to wonder the around the market to meet the traders and the characters that make this market the place it is.

We take you in to the heart of the local community and visit a world famous Graffiti Hall of Fame attracting some of the greatest graffiti writers from around the wold. Be taught the importance of this art movement the techniques the history and its involvement in todays society.
