The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammersein, and based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music is one of the world's most beloved musicals. The Sound of Music tells the tale of young postulant Maria Rainer, who serves as governess for seven motherless children, transforming the Von Trapp family home from a place of strict rules and regulations to one filled with joy, with laughter, and with music. In the process, Maria wins the hearts of all seven children and their widower father, Captain Von Trapp. Returning from their honeymoon, Maria and the Captain learn Austria has been taken over by the Nazis, and it is a family singing engagement that enables them to make their narrow escape. Fleeing over the mountains of Switzerland to safety, Maria and her family inspire the song "Climb Every Mountain." With other musical favorites "My Favorite Things", "The Sound of Music", and "Edelweiss", The Sound of Music hits high notes for the entire family!
