Jazz Soiree (Augusta): Since its inception in January 2014, JazzSoiree has featured classic jazz music performed by the areas top artists, and various wines selected by the host. All presented with state-of-the-art sound and lighting in a beautiful, historic building.
In keeping with the tradition of adding a new element each season, for 2017, Gray Mayfield's GMT:RealX presents new arrangements of jazz classics and standards. We are still at the Jessye Norman School, but in the newly renovated Ellis & Ann N. Johnson Gallery.
This is not a typical jazz concert or hang. The move from the Knox Auditorium to the Ellis & Ann N. Johnson Gallery represents more than an aesthetic shift. The whole vibe has lifted as well. The music is still being performed with reverence and respect, but with a level of intensity that it deserves. To present anything less would be uncivilized.
