Join us for a stunning new version of the classic tale written by Artistic Director Mark Boergers and Stritch Alum Dianne Sposito '73, where things are not always what they seem. In an obscenely lavish Medieval French world, our modest heroine tends the ashes of her family's giant hearth while her two step sisters indulge in fashion to excess. An irreverent fairy godmother rises from the ashes to give the exasperated Cinderella the experience of a lifetime at Prince Veridicus' royal ball. In this brand new adaptation based off of the original French tale by Charles Perrault, materialism and greed is grotesque and absurd- and guileless woodland creatures are the gateway to lessons learned. In this Cinderella, a glass slipper is the right slipper because one can see through it to what's really inside. |
