ACOUSTIC FINGER STYLE
Saturday, May 30th 3:00 - 4:20 pm
Explore the art of finger picking! This eighty-minute workshop will cover the basics of creating a simple folk song accompaniment and work up to picking out familiar melodies. We'll touch several approaches to acoustic blues and visit the arrangements of artists like Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy and Brownie McGhee.
The workshop will be taught by Mark Dvorak who has been on faculty at Chicago's remarkable Old Town School of Folk Music for more than twenty-five years.
The workshop is only $25 per person. Those attending should bring an instrument in playable condition. Attend the workshop AND the evening performance for only $30. |
