Arduino 101 (Microcontrollers for Makers Part 1)

Tech Valley Center of Gravity
Troy, NY

Sales have ended for this event.

Microcontrollers for Makers is a multi-part series aimed at introducing programmable electronic platforms for robotics, wearables, monitors and the "Internet of Things". Part 1 focuses on the Arduino platform and introduces students to the Wiring-based language used to program the Arduino family of microcontrollers and their offshoots. This fundamentals class covers the techniques that will be used in follow-up sessions for more dedicated embedded solutions for projects, including Digital I/O, Analog to Digital Conversion (ADC), Digital to Analog Conversion (DAC) including Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) used for servos.

It is highly recommended that students bring their own laptop for programming Arduino, along with a breadboard, jumper wires (both male-to-male and female to male), and an Arduino with the connecting serial cable. Students without their own Arduino can buy an Arduino Uno (clone), Micro (clone), or MEGA (clone) from the vending machine at the TVCOG.
