Southern Hopspitality is an event to promote Huntsville's Beer week and Free the Hops. The party will be on September 19th from 6:00-11:00. The cost for the event is $20, plus a discounted cost of Straight to Ale beer provided by Liquor Express. There will be performers of all kinds including bands, comedians and fire dancers.
The two bands playing are Shelly Colvin and Dirt Circus. Shelly Colvin is an up and coming star in the folk/country music scene.
Mixing a relaxed, seventies country rock vibe with sweeping, breathy vocals that fall somewhere between Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Colvin creates an inviting sound that is both reminding and refreshing. Shelly is also a Huntsville native. Also, Dirt Circus, a local high energy rock and roll band will be performing as well.
In addition to the musicians, there will be two comedians bringing the laughter, local guys Steven Claybrooks and Patrick Cunningham. And during Dirt Circus, there will be two amazing local fire dancers Johnny Rehm and Katie Brigman.
There will also be food for sale by Drake's and a mystery beer tasting with prizes, brought to you by Liquor Express.
