Evening of traditional Japanese music, with Shamisen Master Masahiro Nitta from Japan, Kyle Abbott on Shamisen, Karl Young on Shakuhachi, Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto and Brian Mitsuhiro Wong on Koto--featuring energetic Tsugaru-style shamisen from Tohoku northern Japan played by Master Nitta, and Kyle Abbott, Director of Bachido-- with performances by Karl Young on Shakuhachi end-blown flute, and Shirley Muramoto and Brian Wong on Koto. CD sales. Tea and light refreshments served.
This is a benefit to raise funds to bring the musicians, dancers, singers and theatre performers for the 27th annual day-long Japanese Cultural Fair in Santa Cruz on June 8, 2013.
