Lynda Mapes - Elwha: A River Reborn Wednesday April 27, 6:00 - 7:30PM Free, but advanced sale tickets required The Royal Room, Columbia City Seward Park Audubon Center presents Lynda Mapes. Lynda Mapes, author and environment reporter for the Seattle Times has explored and reported on Elwha River dam removal, the Elwha ecosystem, its industrialization, and now its renewal. Lynda will share her first hand experiences reporting on the Elwha and show splendid photography of the river before and after dam removal by Seattle Times staff photographer Steve Ringman. She will also read from her book, Elwha a River Reborn published by the Mountaineers Books. Lynda's presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. She'll also sign books available for purchase at the event.
This is part of Seward Park Audubon Center's Urban Naturalist Series connecting authors, artists and naturalists with the southeast Seattle community. Presented with support from the Mountaineers Foundation. |
