What an incredible find this duo is! Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb are jaw-droppingly great guitarists whose diverse repertoire of original and arranged music covers Americana, Jazz, Country Western and Classical. Their guitar playing is built on the thumb-picking techniques pioneered by guitar greats Merle Travis and Chet Atkins, and their songs feature Loren's superb vocals with some beautiful harmonies from Mark. I listened to their CD from front to end... pretty amazing" (Lloyd Maines) Mazengarb was born and raised in New Zealand and completed his music education at UNC Chapel Hill. Barrigar grew up playing in his family band, debuting at the Grand Ole Opry at the tender age of six. He's a busy studio musician, and if you've watched TV in the past decade you've heard his playing on the soundtrack of a slew of hit shows. |
